Militha
The Militha (“inclusion”) programme was initiated by the Collective in 2001, to ensure that people with disabilities were treated with respect and dignity, and included and integrated as valued members of families and communities. Under this initiative, the Collective promoted the Prathibha Cooperative which is a federation of village-level Cross Disability Groups or Sanghas composed of adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, and the Caregivers or family members of children with disabilities. As on 31st August 2025, Prathibha has 1,884 Members from 153 villages spread across 5 mandals of Sri Sathya Sai District. The Prathibha Cooperative operates a thrift and credit programme, and the Net worth of Prathibha Cooperative as on 31st August 2025 is INR 3.89 crores. It advocates for the rights of people with disabilities (PWD), facilitates access to entitlements and schemes. It also promotes livelihood opportunities for members by way of individual and collective enterprises.
